This Privacy Policy explains how Dreamjobr ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and shares information about you when you use dreamjobr.com and related services (the "Service"). We are the data controller for personal data processed through the Service.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data — name, email address, password hash, authentication provider identifiers (e.g. Google).
  • CV and profile content — the CV files, work history, skills, and preferences you upload or enter so we can tailor CVs and match jobs.
  • Job search activity — search queries, saved jobs, match feedback, and campaign settings you create in the Dream Job Finder.
  • Billing data — subscription tier and Stripe customer ID. Card details are handled directly by Stripe; we never store full card numbers.
  • Usage and device data — pages viewed, actions taken, IP address, browser and device type, and approximate location, captured through server logs and privacy-respecting analytics.
  • Email interactions — delivery, open, bounce, complaint, and unsubscribe events for messages we send you.

2. How we use your information

  • Provide the Service — tailor CVs, run job matching, deliver dashboards and account features.
  • Send transactional emails (sign-in, receipts, job matches, account alerts) and, where you have opted in, product updates.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe.
  • Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Service, including detecting abuse and fraud.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. Legal bases (UK/EU users)

We rely on: contract (to deliver the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to secure, improve, and market the Service in a proportionate way), consent (for optional marketing emails and non-essential cookies), and legal obligation (tax, accounting, and lawful requests).

4. AI processing of your CV

To tailor CVs and generate suggestions, we send the relevant sections of your CV and the target job description to large-language-model providers acting as our processors. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your content to train their models. Outputs are stored in your account so you can review and reuse them.

5. Sharing your information

We share personal data only with service providers acting on our instructions, including:

  • Cloud hosting and database infrastructure.
  • Email delivery providers (for transactional and matching emails).
  • Stripe, for payments and subscription management.
  • Adzuna and other job-listing APIs, to fetch jobs matching your preferences.
  • AI/LLM providers, strictly to generate CV tailoring and matching output.
  • Analytics and error-monitoring tools used to keep the Service reliable.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (in which case we will notify you).

6. International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the UK/EEA. Where that is the case, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Data retention

  • Account data — for as long as your account is active, plus up to 12 months after deletion for security and audit purposes.
  • CVs and tailorings — until you delete them or close your account.
  • Billing records — 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations.
  • Email logs — up to 24 months for deliverability diagnostics.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise these rights from your Settings page or by emailing privacy@dreamjobr.com. UK/EU users may also complain to their local supervisory authority (e.g. the UK ICO).

9. Security

We use encryption in transit, row-level access controls, hashed credentials, and least-privilege access for our team. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication where offered.

10. Cookies

We use strictly-necessary cookies for authentication and security, and limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings.

11. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect.
